OKLA TO THE HEART OF MERCY

by Keith Gaustad

It is easier to say we drank together
in Kansas City than we both attended
RCIA classes and had that one talk with
that one friend and ended up unfriended?
As if somehow one sides with institutional
oppression because of transubstantiation.
Afterward train bound indulging Dostoyevski
passages and marking an evacuation.
Heart of Mercy, beating in a book of Bernie,
Mindful of the fragile hammers of time dispense
An ink well fastened to the fingers of Facebook;
Radio narcolepsy of an audience.
There is translation of languages and translations of
peace found the same phrase the heart of mercy is love
